In the round of 16, the Roman tennis player, number 13 in the ATP ranking and number 10 in the seeding, defeated the American Zachary Svajda, number 85, in four sets with the score of 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (5). Thanks to this victory, Cobolli will still be at least world No. 11 starting Monday. In the quarterfinals, the Italian will face the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the fourth seed, and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo.
