Milan, 19 June (LaPresse) – Hellas Verona FC has announced that “with effect from 1 July, Marco Baroni has been appointed head coach of the first team; he has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2028, with an option to extend until 2029”. Born in Florence on 11 September 1963, the manager returns to the Hellas dugout following his spell during the 2023/24 season, which ended with the club avoiding relegation from Serie A and finishing thirteenth in the table. He had previously been part of the Gialloblù coaching staff during the 2002/03 season, as assistant to Alberto Malesani. His connection with Verona dates back to his playing days: Baroni wore the Gialloblù shirt from 1995 to 1998, making 93 appearances and scoring 9 goals across Serie A, Serie B and the Coppa Italia. During his coaching career, he has secured two promotions to Serie A, with Benevento in the 2016/17 season and with Lecce in 2021/22. In the top flight, he has also secured survival at the helm of both Lecce and Hellas Verona. Hellas Verona FC “extends a warm welcome to manager Marco Baroni and all members of his staff, and wishes them every success in their work”.
