The Brazilian club itself has announced the news, explaining that “the ‘Monster’ (as the former Milan player is nicknamed in Brazil) has agreed to return and has signed a contract with the club until December 2026”. The defender is expected at the Carlos Castilho Training Centre to join the squad and begin training next week. This will be Thiago Silva’s fourth spell at Fluminense, his third with the first team. Silva has made 212 appearances and scored 19 goals for the club.
