Milan, 26 June (LaPresse) – Andrea Kimi Antonelli also set the fastest time in the second free practice session of the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver, who leads the World Championship, clocked a time of 1’07’014, finishing +0.237 seconds ahead of Australia’s Oscar Piastri in the McLaren. Third place went to the other McLaren, driven by world champion Lando Norris, +0.325 behind. Dutchman Max Verstappen in the Red Bull held on to fourth place, +0.550 behind. The Ferraris were further back, with Britain’s Lewis Hamilton fifth at +0.597, ahead of the other Mercedes driven by George Russell, who was sixth at +0.623. Charles Leclerc, in the other Maranello-built Ferrari, was only eighth, +0.841, and was also pipped by the other Red Bull driven by Frenchman Isack Hadjar, who was seventh, +0.744. The third free practice session is scheduled for tomorrow morning, whilst qualifying for pole position takes place at 4 pm.
