Third place went to the Spanish KTM rider Pedro Acosta, 0.187 seconds behind, followed by the other Aprilia Trackhouse rider, Japan’s Ai Ogura. Pecco Bagnaia, on a factory Ducati, was fifth, 0.261 seconds behind, ahead of his team-mate Marc Marquez, who was 0.323 seconds behind. Fabio Di Giannantonio, on a VR46 Team Ducati, set the seventh-fastest time, with Jorge Martin on an Aprilia and Alex Marquez on a Gresini Team Ducati rounding off the top ten. It was the younger of the Marquez brothers who was involved in a nasty crash in the closing stages and was taken to the medical centre as a precaution for checks.
