They defeated Bosnia 2-0, the team that had knocked Italy out in the playoffs to qualify for the tournament. Mauricio Pochettino’s side prevailed thanks to goals from Balogun in the 45th minute and Tillman in the 82nd. In between, in the 64th minute, Balogun himself was sent off. The United States will now face Belgium, who came from behind to beat Senegal.
