Rome, 2 July (LaPresse) – Spain have reached the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup. Manager De La Fuente’s side beat Austria 3–0 in their Round of 32 match played in Los Angeles. Oyarzabal scored for the ‘Red Fury’ in the 36th and 89th minutes, with Pedro Porro adding another in the 66th minute. It is worth noting that Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon set a new World Cup clean sheet record, breaking the previous one set by Walter Zenga at Italy ’90. Spain’s next opponent will be the winner of the match between Portugal and Croatia.
