London, Jul. 4 (LaPresse) – Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori reached the Round of 16 in the men’s doubles at Wimbledon for the first time as a pair, at the third Grand Slam of the season on the grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Seeded No. 4, the two Italians defeated Dutchman Jesper De Jong and Frenchman Valentin Royer 6-1, 6-4. For a place in the quarter-finals, they will face for the first time a pair of former world No. 1 doubles players: American Austin Krajicek and Croatian Nikola Mektic, the No. 14 seeds.
