London, Jul. 4 (LaPresse) – Jasmine Paolini reaches the Round of 16 at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season, played on the grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. In the third round, the 30-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, world No. 17 and 13th seed — in her sixth main draw appearance, with the 2024 final as her best result — defeated Greece’s Maria Sakkari, world No. 43, 6-1, 6-2 in one hour and six minutes. The Italian therefore reaches the Wimbledon Round of 16 for the second time in her career after 2024, the year she also reached the final.
