Turin, 5 July (LaPresse) – “It’s incredible. Unfortunately, the finish wasn’t quite what I’d have hoped for, but winning after the last few weekends – which had been particularly difficult – is brilliant.” This was the comment from Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc following his victory at the British Grand Prix. “All the work we’ve done to try and rediscover the feel for the car… it felt like only yesterday that I’d found something, but we had to confirm it today. I’m incredibly happy,” added the Monegasque driver. “In Monaco, the feel wasn’t there and I had an accident in Q3 during qualifying; in Barcelona I had another accident; in Austria I wasn’t doing very well, but here we’ve managed to put it all together. I hope to build on this momentum from now on and keep going like this, but a huge thank you goes to the team for all the work they’ve done. Antonelli’s problem? It would have been touch-and-go; he was incredibly fast as he was closing in towards the end – it would have been a real feat to hold on to first place. Then I heard he’d had a problem.”
