Turin, 5 July (LaPresse) – “The time has come to say goodbye to something that means so much to me. These five years have been an incredible journey, filled with moments of enthusiasm, great joy and very few lows.” So said Denzel Dumfries in a video posted on his social media channels, in which he announced his departure from Inter whilst leafing through an album of memories from his time with the Nerazzurri. “The young man who arrived for his first adventure abroad leaves today as a man, a husband, a father of three, and with a heart full of gratitude,” added the Dutch full-back, who will play for Real Madrid next season. “First and foremost, I want to thank my team-mates, whom I’ve had the privilege of getting to know over these years. Every trip, every training session and every match has been special. We’ve laughed together, celebrated together and, at times, suffered together. I’d also like to thank all the staff members during my time at Inter; you’ve become like family to me. Now the time has come to say goodbye – it’s not a farewell, but a ‘see you soon’.”
