Turin, 6 July (LaPresse) – Tadej Pogacar’s first victory in the 2026 Tour de France. The Slovenian sensation triumphed in the third stage of the Grande Boucle, a 195 km medium-mountain stage starting from Granollers and finishing at Les Angles after a short climb. Two seconds behind him came Jonas Vingegaard, who relinquished the yellow jersey, tied on time in the general classification with the UAE Team Emirates captain, who, however, boasts better placings. Third place went to Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost), who finished in the same time as Vingegaard, as did Frenchman Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM Team). For Pogacar, this marks his 22nd career victory in the Tour de France. In the general classification, Pogacar and Vingegaard are level on time, with Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe) third, 23 seconds behind. The fourth stage of the Tour de France is scheduled for Tuesday: an 182-km stage from Carcassonne to Foix, featuring a undulating route suited to breakaway riders and long-range attacks.
