Akanji missed by shooting over the bar, but errors by Davinson Sanchez, who hit the crossbar, and Cucho Hernandez, whose penalty was saved, sealed Colombia’s fate after a match that ended 0–0. Switzerland are back among the world’s top eight for the first time since 1954 and will now face Messi’s Argentina.
