Turin, 9 July (LaPresse) – Karolina Muchova is the first finalist in the Wimbledon women’s singles tournament, the third Grand Slam of the current season on the grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The Czech player defeated the American Coco Gauff, ranked number seven in the world, in a closely fought third set, winning 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (10) after two hours and 38 minutes of play. The player, currently ranked ninth in the WTA rankings, will now face the winner of the match between her compatriot Linda Noskova and the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk in the final, scheduled for Saturday.
