Milan, 10 July (LaPresse) – A new signing for Ruben Amorim’s Milan. The Rossoneri have announced that they “have secured the permanent transfer of footballer Mario Gila Fuentes from S.S. Lazio. The Spanish defender has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2031 and will wear the number 34 shirt”. Born in Barcelona on 29 August 2000, Mario Gila developed as a footballer in the Spanish youth system before joining the Real Madrid Academy, where he completed his training with Real Madrid Castilla until making his first-team debut in the 2021/22 season, helping the club win La Liga. In the summer of 2022, he moved to Lazio, a club for which he made 120 appearances and scored 2 goals over four seasons, distinguishing himself through consistent performances and gaining experience in both Serie A and European competitions. The Spanish defender made his official debut for the Under-21 national team on 23 September 2022; in 2023, he was called up for the Under-21 European Championship, making three appearances. In 2025, he received his first call-up to the senior national team. Milan extends “a warm welcome to Mario and wishes him every success, both personally and as part of the team, in the Rossoneri shirt”.
