Milan, July 18 (LaPresse) – Britain’s Josh Kerr has broken the men’s world record for the mile, a mark that had stood since 1999. Kerr clocked 3:42.66 during a Diamond League meeting in London last Saturday. The British runner eclipsed the previous record of 3:43.13, set by Morocco’s Hicham El Guerrouj in Rome in 1999. The Scottish athlete has won one Olympic silver medal and one Olympic bronze medal in the 1,500 metres during his career.
