Milan, 18 July (LaPresse) – Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus drew 0–0 away at Basel in their first pre-season friendly. The Bianconeri lacked bite in attack and lost new signing Ekhator after around twenty minutes due to a minor physical problem. Juve created numerous chances, particularly through Boga in the first half but also via Miretti and Openda in the second. However, they were always lacking that decisive finish. In fact, the Bianconeri even risked conceding, but were saved by Perin, who saved a penalty from Otele early in the second half. In the closing stages, Basel, managed by former Juventus player Stephan Liechtsteiner, were reduced to ten men following the sending-off of goalkeeper Salvi for a foul on Openda as he was bearing down on goal.
