Two other people were injured when part of the fountain, known as the ‘Fontana dell’Albero Grasso’, collapsed. The City Council of Ciudad Rodrigo expressed its sorrow and condolences in a statement posted on social media, emphasising that “the whole town of Ciudad Rodrigo shares in this grief and stands with the family and friends”.
