Turin, 21 July (LaPresse) – Amerigo Sarri, father of Maurizio – currently manager of Atalanta – and a leading figure in Tuscan cycling in the post-war period, with around fifty victories to his name as an amateur, has died at the age of 97. “President Antonio Percassi, Co-Chairman Stephen Pagliuca, Chief Executive Luca Percassi, the directors, the coaching staff, the players, and all the Club’s employees and associates extend their heartfelt sympathy to Mr Sarri and his family at this time of great sorrow, offering their most sincere and heartfelt condolences,” reads a statement from Atalanta – “May the Sarri family feel the support and warmth of the entire Nerazzurri family.”
