Turin, 22 July (LaPresse) – Massimiliano Allegri’s Napoli suffered defeat in their first pre-season outing in Val di Sole. The Azzurri were beaten 3–1 by Arezzo in their opening friendly in Dimaro. The Tuscan side took the lead early on with a header from Cerri. In the 56th minute, Arezzo scored their second goal through Gilli, who pounced on a parry from Milinkovic Savic. A few minutes later, Napoli pulled one back. Arezzo goalkeeper Serban fouled Vergara as he was bearing down on goal. Politano stepped up to take the penalty; Serban saved it, but the Napoli player slotted home the rebound to make it 2-1. In the 80th minute, the Neapolitans came close to equalising when Lucca hit the post. In the closing stages, Arezzo scored their third goal through Mawuli, making it 3–1. Napoli’s next friendly is against Carrarese, scheduled for Sunday at 6.00 pm, again at the Carciato ground.
