Trento, 25 July (LaPresse) – Italy’s campaign at the Under-18 European Basketball Championships, currently taking place in Rovereto and Trento until 2 August, has got off to a flying start. The Azzurri beat Latvia 89–67, putting in a superb display of skill and pace. After conceding a comeback from the Latvians in the third quarter, Coach Marco Sodini’s side pulled away in the final quarter, scoring baskets and putting up an impenetrable defence. Tomorrow, Italy will face Spain. Slovenia also secured a victory, beating Lithuania 83–76.
