Rome, 1 August (LaPresse) – Remco Evenepoel has won the San Sebastián Classic. Less than a week after finishing second in the Tour de France behind the unbeatable Tadej Pogacar, the Belgian champion riding for Red Bull–Bora Hansgrohe has secured his fourth victory in the Spanish classic, becoming the most successful rider ever in the history of the Basque race. Evenepoel prevailed in a two-man sprint: with 250 metres to go, he launched his sprint and Ecuador’s Richard Carapaz (EF Education-Easy-Post) was forced to concede defeat. In the sprint for the podium, Ben Tulett finished third, Christian Scaroni fourth and Ciccone sixth.
