Turin, 11 Aug. (LaPresse) – Italy has won two medals in the 5,000 metres at the European Athletics Championships currently taking place in Birmingham. Nadia Battocletti triumphed, defending the title she won two years ago in Rome, with a time of 15’37″84, making her decisive move in the final 300 metres. Micol Majori also has reason to celebrate, having fought her way back to claim bronze in 15’40‘65. The silver medal went to Spain’s Marta Garcia (15’39’98).
