(LaPresse) – “Suspected muscle strain to the long adductor muscle of the left thigh.” This is the initial diagnosis regarding Marcell Jacobs’ injury sustained during the 100-metre final at the European Championships in Birmingham, as announced by the federation’s head of medical services, Andrea Billi, following an ultrasound scan carried out today. “The athlete has begun physiotherapy to help the haematoma reabsorb and drain,” continued Dr Billi. “On Wednesday morning, in Rome, Jacobs will undergo an MRI scan at CONI’s Institute of Sports Medicine and Science to finalise the diagnosis and decide on a course of treatment, if necessary.”
