Milan, Aug. 22 (LaPresse) – Portuguese footballer Quévin Castro has died after collapsing during a friendly match with Real Sport Clube, a fourth-division team. The Lisbon Football Federation and his club announced that 25-year-old Castro died on Saturday morning during a pre-season match against Estrela de Amadora at the Estadio das Seixas in Malveira. The club said: “Quévin Castro was much more than a player, he was a member of our family, and he left a mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, both on and off the pitch.” Castro’s former club, West Bromwich Albion, in England, said it was “devastated” by news of the player’s “untimely death” and announced that it will pay tribute to him with a minute of applause in the 25th minute of Sunday’s match against Burnley.
