Fabio Pisacane’s Cagliari won 0–1 at the Tardini thanks to a goal scored by 20-year-old Swiss midfielder Romano, making his debut for the Sardinian side. The decisive goal came in the 79th minute with a curling shot from mid-range that found the back of the net past goalkeeper Corvi.
