The head of European football has ruled himself out of the race to replace President Gianni Infantino, but has warned the embattled FIFA chief that he will have to resign or face a leadership challenge in March. Infantino is under mounting pressure to resign due to his failed plans to attract private investment in FIFA tournaments, with three continental confederations accusing him of “deception” and UEFA threatening to boycott FIFA competitions. Although widely regarded as a potential challenger to Infantino, the 58-year-old Ceferin reiterated his commitment to UEFA in an interview with the podcast ‘The Rest is Politics’: “I’m not interested.”
