The Donyell Malen–Paulo Dybala partnership stole the show, with Malen finishing off three assists from Dybala, scoring his first goal in the 27th minute of the first half. Fiorentina tried to keep up with the Giallorossi’s pace, but it was always Roma who created the best chances. In the second half, the situation remained unchanged and it was once again Gian Piero Gasperini’s side who found the net, with the familiar Malen-Dybala duo sealing the 2–0 scoreline in the 52nd and 60th minutes.
