Rome, 25 August (LaPresse) – Another setback for Federica Brignone. The Italian ski champion, a double gold medallist at Milan-Cortina 2026, has announced on her social media channels that she is to undergo further surgery on her left leg, which had previously been operated on following a serious injury in 2025. “My leg is continuing to improve, but unfortunately I still experience pain when doing certain activities and whilst on skis. For this reason, together with the medical team, we have decided to proceed with surgery,” writes the Italian champion. The main aim will be to remove the plate and clean the area, with the possibility of also treating the meniscus. This final decision will be made during the operation this afternoon. That’s all for now… I’ll keep you updated,” concludes Brignone.
