The Roman, ranked 6th in the ATP rankings, had to come back from two sets down to beat the Argentine Francisco Comesana (ATP No. 119) with a final score of 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 after a match lasting four hours and 13 minutes.
