Coppa Italia: Palermo through to the last 16 after beating Mantova 5-2, with Pohjanpalo in superb form

Milan, 3 Sept. (LaPresse) – Pippo Inzaghi’s Palermo have qualified for the Coppa Italia round of 16 thanks to a convincing 5–2 victory over Mantova at the Stadio Barbera. The Rosanero were in fine form from the first half, with goals from Strefezza in the 9th minute and Palumbo from the penalty spot in the 45th+6 minute. In the second half, however, Mantova staged a comeback with goals from Ruocco in the 52nd minute and Kouda in the 55th minute. Palermo responded and ran riot in the closing stages with a brace from Pohjanpalo in the 70th and 95th minutes, and a goal from Johnsen in the 89th minute. In the next round, Inzaghi’s Rosanero will face Bologna.
