Milan, Sept. 10 (LaPresse) – Alessandro Romano becomes an Italian player and will be eligible for selection by Roberto Mancini for our national team. The Cagliari midfielder – as indicated by the Fifa.com website – has obtained a change of eligibility from Swiss to Italian nationality. The 20-year-old Romano holds dual citizenship, both Swiss and Italian, having been born in Switzerland to Italian parents. Although he played for Switzerland’s Under-20 team, FIFA regulations allow a change of nationality and for this reason Romano has opted for Italian nationality.
