Milan, 22 Sept. (LaPresse) – A superb Italian team has won the gold medal in the mixed team time trial at the Cycling World Championships in Montreal, Canada. The Italian team, comprising Filippo Ganna, Mattia Cattaneo, Matteo Sobrero, Vittoria Guazzini, Elisa Longo Borghini and Monica Trinca Colonel, completed the race in a time of 51’32”, over a 20.3 km course tackled first by the men and then by the women. France took silver in 51’40” and Switzerland bronze in 51’52”. For Italy, this is their first gold medal in this discipline, following two bronze and one silver. It is also the third medal won by the Italian team at the 2026 World Championships in Montreal.
