Milan, 28 Sept. (LaPresse) – Four Italians have made it into the main draw of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships, the ATP 500 tournament taking place at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo from 30 September to 6 October. Lorenzo Musetti, Luciano Darderi, Matteo Arnaldi and Matteo Berrettini are set to compete in the oldest ATP tournament currently on the Asian calendar, which began in 1972. Lorenzo Sonego, the only Italian in the draw, was knocked out in the first round of the qualifiers. The Turin native (ranked 86th in the ATP) was defeated 7-5, 6-2 by Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak (73rd) for the first time in his career at the oldest ATP tournament currently on the Asian calendar, which began in 1972.
