Turin, 30 Sept. (LaPresse) – “Within the deadline set by UEFA”, the FIGC “has today submitted the dossiers on the venues deemed suitable to proceed with the bid process to host the Euro 2032 matches. President Giovanni Malagò has sent a formal communication to Alexander Ceferin, head of Europe’s governing body for football, containing the assessment carried out by the FIGC’s offices regarding the comprehensive review of 13 cities (Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Rome, Salerno, Turin and Verona) and 14 stadiums (Rome is bidding with the Olimpico and the proposed new Pietralata stadium; Naples with the Maradona Stadium)”. The Italian Football Federation announced this in a statement, adding that “once the dossiers have been received, UEFA will carry out the necessary compliance checks, covering 11 thematic areas – including infrastructure compatibility – and 120 operational requirements (such as services for supporters, accessibility, sustainability, services for the media and broadcasters, security and hospitality). Only then will the Federation proceed to name the five host venues”. “We are pleased with the number and quality of the bids received by the FIGC, which demonstrate the commitment and enthusiasm with which Italy has risen to this challenge,” said Malagò.
