Turin, 30 Sept. (LaPresse) – “There’s no issue; I’ve already explained what happened – don’t make a drama out of it. I told Cristiano he wouldn’t be playing in these two matches, but I thought I might need him during the game, so I had him warm up. But I didn’t bring him on. Any player who warms up for twenty minutes or half an hour and then doesn’t play isn’t happy. Least of all Cristiano. That’s the situation.” Portugal manager Jorge Jesus made these comments at a press conference ahead of the Nations League match against Denmark, speaking about CR7’s reaction; upon leaving the pitch, he made no secret of his displeasure at not having played in the 2–1 victory over Norway. Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s participation in tomorrow’s match is in doubt: the former Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid striker missed today’s training session. “I’m the manager and I’ve decided not to play him. If I need him for half an hour, he’ll play for half an hour; otherwise, he won’t,” added Jesus. “No player will ever make me change my mind on this – neither him nor anyone else in football, nor any president.”
