Milan, 30 Sept. (LaPresse/AP) – “Following the press conference with the national team manager and after a meeting with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have decided to leave the national team’s training camp. In due course, I will explain to all Portuguese people the reasons that led me to leave the national team, to which I have always been deeply attached.” So wrote Cristiano Ronaldo in an Instagram post after leaving the Portuguese national team’s training camp this afternoon, following his omission from the starting line-up set to face Denmark in the Nations League on Thursday. “Now is the time to wish Portugal and all my team-mates the best of luck, without exception,” concluded CR7.
