Milan, 9 Oct. (LaPresse) – “I hope to be able to defend my title; this mature lad has quite a haul of medals and trophies. It’s great to spur each other on; thanks to him, too, we’re all improving. I hope to be able to compete with him and the Swiss; then there are always the outsiders, and you have to go that extra mile.” So said Giovanni Franzoni during the FISI Media Day at the Armani Theatre in Milan, also speaking about his rivalry with team-mate Dominik Paris ahead of the upcoming Ski World Cup season. “For me, it’s all happened so quickly, and simply replicating last season won’t be easy. There are high expectations of me – I set them for myself too – but it’s important to remember that I do this sport because I enjoy it. It’s not always plain sailing; what matters is giving it your all, and I think I know how to handle it all,” added the 25-year-old from Brescia.
