Rome, 12 Oct. (LaPresse) – “Do I expect to be nominated by Serie A? Modestly speaking, yes. I think it’s right that they should decide; they’ll be holding a meeting on the 16th. I modestly expect it.” So said Giovanni Malagò, commissioner of the FIGC, on the sidelines of the Collari d’Oro awards at the “Giulio Onesti” Olympic Training Centre, regarding the possibility that Serie A might nominate him again for the upcoming elections scheduled for 14 December. On the endorsement from De Laurentiis, who had backed Malagò, he emphasised that “Aurelio is a friend; he’s always been a loyal supporter and a backer. He also likes to act like an ultra fan, but I thank him”. As for the resolution concerning the FIGC secretary, “it’s obvious that people are talking about it because there is a resolution. That said, you’ll have to be patient regarding the timing and process; I need to speak to the people involved”.
