Rome, 15 Oct. (LaPresse) – Milan bounced back and returned to winning ways in Europe with a 4-0 away victory over Salzburg on matchday two of the Europa League’s single-group stage. Cisse scored a hat-trick, putting the Rossoneri ahead in the 15th minute with a header from a Hutchinson assist, doubling the lead in the 32nd minute with a left-footed finish from a Bartesaghi pass, and completing his hat-trick (the first of his career) in the 49th minute by capitalising on a Rabiot counter-attack. Ramos sealed the victory in the 72nd minute. Milan were reduced to 10 men from the 83rd minute following Terracciano’s sending-off for a push on the edge of the box on Schmid, who was through on goal. Amorim’s side, coming off the back of a defeat to Benfica at San Siro, are thus back in the running for one of the top eight places in the table, which guarantee direct qualification for the round of 16. The match was never in doubt, with the Rossoneri enjoying clear dominance. As well as Cisse, Tomori put in a good performance – having been reinstated to the squad on the final day of the transfer window after a summer on the sidelines (this was his first appearance of the season) – whilst Jashari and Hutchinson also showed promise. Milan will be back in European action next Thursday with an away fixture in England against Bournemouth, but first they face Atalanta at home on Sunday.
