Milan, 15 Oct. (LaPresse) – A new chapter in the legal dispute between F1 driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli and his former manager Giovanni Minardi, son of Giancarlo, who is contesting the unilateral termination of the agreement with Minardi Management after the Bologna-born driver signed with Mercedes in 2019. At the latest hearing, the Court of Bologna, “in granting our application, ordered Mercedes and Kimi Antonelli” to produce “a vast amount of documentation” by 6 November. Specifically, this includes all contracts entered into from the start of the relationship to the present day between the team and the driver, as well as the production of the full set of accounting records attesting to all payments made by Mercedes to Antonelli for any reason whatsoever,” lawyer Mattia Grassani, who is representing Minardi’s interests, told LaPresse. “This is an important step towards establishing the truth, which will allow Giovanni Minardi – something that has so far been denied by Antonelli and his representatives – to find out in detail what agreements were reached between the team and the driver, and the total amount of fees and remuneration paid from the start of the driving contract to the present day,” explained the lawyer. Minardi is seeking a percentage of between 10 per cent and 20 per cent of the earnings received and still to be received by the driver up to 2028, when the previously signed agreement would have expired. This is a substantial sum, given that in 2025 alone Antonelli earned over 10 million euros in salary and bonuses.
