Rome, 16 Oct. (LaPresse) – Lecce has announced “that today the Arbitration Panel provided for in the collective agreement between the Italian Football Federation, Lega Serie A and the Italian Footballers’ Association has issued its final ruling in the proceedings brought against Lameck Banda”. The statement goes on to say that “upholding the claims of U.S. Lecce, has established that the player’s employment contract was due to end on 30 June 2027”, as well as Banda’s “serious breach of contract” for failing, from 1 July 2026 onwards, to make himself available for work and resume sporting activities despite being called up. Consequently, the Arbitration Panel imposed on the player the disciplinary sanctions provided for in the Collective Agreement, consisting in particular of a fine of €256,250.00”. Lecce concludes by noting that “separate proceedings against the player and Al-Swehly Sports Club are currently pending before the competent FIFA judicial bodies, aimed at obtaining compensation for damages arising from the termination without just cause and the imposition on Mr Lameck Banda and the club of the disciplinary sanctions provided for under international regulations”.
