Turin, 18 Oct. (LaPresse) – Como won 3–1 at the ‘Franchi’ against Fiorentina in their Serie A Matchday 7 fixture and have now reached 14 points, sitting provisionally in fourth place. Liberali, surprisingly brought on by Fabregas from the 1st minute, broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with a curling shot from a tight angle; a few minutes later, Nico Paz doubled the lead with a perfect header from a cross by Valle from the left. The home side pulled one back in the 42nd minute through Pongracic, who was quick to tap the ball into the net from a scramble following a corner. The Fiorentina defender also found the net in stoppage time to make it 2-2 with a volley from a free-kick taken by Mastantuono, but after a lengthy VAR review, the referee ruled it out for offside. In the second half, the Lombards sealed the match in the 11th minute with a powerful shot from Douvikas, who caught Dea Gea off guard – the keeper was not at his best on this occasion as the ball slipped under his legs – following a pass from Paz. The Viola no longer had the strength to fight back and had to concede defeat, suffering their second consecutive loss in a league table that remains a struggle with just four points to their name.
