Rome, 19 Oct. (LaPresse) – “They are the most important part, the audience and the fans. I’ve always tried to step aside and get the camp talking, I’m short on words but this time they put me on the wall, they forced me to make this book, I was hesitant. After 50 years I have to do another one, when I do 60. It was an intense and significant 10 years that went beyond the field. I still ‘this book has to read it”. This was stated by Francesco Totti, former Roma champion, at the presentation of the book ‘Oltre’, released in bookstores on September 22, which recounts anecdotes and moments from his private life in the years following his retirement from football in 2017. “May 28th of that year is like I died in a certain way for me, it was a forced farewell, which I didn’t want and felt. E’ it was painful but in the end it was the normality of football and that job. When you serve you serve, when you don’t serve you are no longer. I was the last to know about this, I reluctantly accepted the decision of that management. And I was afraid to move on, I didn’t know what I found, what I wanted. I felt lost. What am I afraid of? Of death. I hope to continue with this desire and passion that I have inside”, he stressed. The word love often resonates in the book. “There is so much in this book. E’ a very strong and heavy word. Over these 50 years I have given and received so much love, especially from family and children and from the people, there has been a simple, transparent give and take, I think this for me is the most important thing, I have done the work I have always wanted. This was true love for me, it’s not easy to transform what you think. At that moment I was confident in myself. I hope I let this love in”, he added. Among those in the room were his girlfriend Noemi Bocchi, Arianna Mihajlovic, wife of Sinisa Mihajlovic, and former player Vincent Candela.
