Milan, 25 Oct. (LaPresse) – Milan secured a 2-0 victory away at Udinese in the late kick-off of Matchday 8 of Serie A. These three points propel Amorim’s side into fourth place with 18 points, level with Roma. Udinese, meanwhile, suffered their sixth consecutive defeat and continue to slide dangerously towards the bottom of the table. Plagued by numerous injuries, Milan manager Amorim made a surprise selection by fielding Diawara at left-back, whilst Bartesaghi moved up into midfield. Hutchinson was given a chance on the right, with Ramos and Pulisic leading the line. The deadlock was broken after just six minutes thanks to Pulisic, who skilfully broke the offside trap and beat Okoye following a perfect assist from Modric. Udinese tried to respond; as the minutes ticked by, they gained ground but rarely posed a threat, apart from a few long-range efforts that failed to trouble Maignan. In fact, towards the end of the half, it was Milan who came close to doubling their lead through Bartesaghi. In the second half, the Rossoneri looked to see out the game; after a chance for Pulisic, it was Hutchinson who doubled the lead in the 60th minute. The English striker was quickest to pounce, slotting home a shot from outside the box by Jashari that had been parried by Okoye. Milan also came close to making it 3–0 with a spectacular shot from Ramos that struck the crossbar in a goalmouth scramble.
