(LaPresse) – Luciano Darderi’s run at the ATP 500 in Vienna came to an end in the second round, as he was soundly beaten in two sets by world No. 14 Tommy Paul: the final score was 6-1, 6-1 in favour of the American, achieved in under an hour of play, confirming that he had dominated the match from the very first rallies. Still some 100 points short of a place in the top 20, Darderi’s last chance to try and finish the season among the world’s top 20 will now be the Paris Masters 1000, a tournament he has played twice in his career, exiting in the first round on both occasions.
