Milan, 31 Oct. (LaPresse) – “It’s an incredible feeling to see all these people; it really is the pinnacle of football. It’s going to be a fantastic evening. My aim is to take Milan back to the top; I’ve realised the importance of the legends who form the foundation.” So said Milan owner Gerry Cardinale, speaking to Sky Sport ahead of the derby against Inter at San Siro. “Amorim is my manager; we get on really well and he’s doing a brilliant job with the team. He’s a manager who’s helping the players develop, and that’s why I made this choice,” he added. “We want to be proactive; I’ll be here for a long time and will be active in every transfer window, trying to make the most of every opportunity. I want to take the club to the top of Italian and European football, and we’re doing our very best,” Cardinale continued. Finally, on the new stadium shared with Inter: “The new stadium is a partnership with Inter; I have great respect for them, but having said that, we want to win tonight. As for the financial side, I want to bring the best of my experience from the US to bear – not just at Milan, but across Serie A as a whole – to restore the league to what it has always been,” he concluded.
