New York (United States), 22 July (LaPresse) – OpenAI has revealed an “unprecedented cyber incident” in which its artificial intelligence models allegedly breached the systems of another company in the sector, the start-up Hugging Face. The company’s CEO, Sam Altman, stated that the incident occurred during a model evaluation test. Last week, Hugging Face had detected an intrusion into its data processing systems. Hugging Face’s co-founder, Clément Delangue, confirmed that the attack originated from an artificial intelligence agent, emphasising how incredible it was that it had occurred autonomously. Delangue reiterated, however, that there was no malicious intent on OpenAI’s part.
