Ukraine, Starmer: ‘Britain and France working with Kiev on ceasefire’

London (UK), Mar 2 (LaPresse) – Britain and France have agreed to work with Kiev on a ceasefire plan to be discussed with the United States. This was said by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer this morning in an interview with the BBC, adding that the plan emerged after talks between the leaders of the four countries following the clash between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump at the White House on Friday. According to Starmer's statement to the BBC, an agreement was reached after talks with Zelensky, Trump and Macron that the UK, along with France and ‘possibly one or two others’ will work with Ukraine on a ‘plan to stop the fighting and then we will discuss that plan with the US’. The British Prime Minister made it clear that, in his view, Trump wants a lasting peace in Ukraine.
