Milan, 3 March (LaPresse) – The United Kingdom will have a ‘leading role’ in guaranteeing peace in Ukraine. This was stated by the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, speaking to the House of Commons. It was agreed on Sunday that European and other allied countries willing to play a role will now intensify their planning and the UK will play a leading role, Mr Starmer told MPs, adding that ‘boots on the ground and planes in the air’ could be involved ‘if necessary’. It is right that Europe does the ‘heavy lifting’, he continued, emphasising however that for this work to be successful ‘strong support from the United States’ is necessary.
